Hi,
Currently I have a Server 2000 DC running Exchange 2000. All the mailboxes for the entire company are contained on this server. We decided to put a new Exchange Server in one of our remote locations with poor connection speeds, and move mailboxes there for the local users.
I installed Server 2003 without any problems as a member server in our domain (we only have one domain). I ran the Exchange 2003 forestprep and domainprep and installed Exchange 2003 without any problems as well. I then updated Exchange 2003 to Service Pack 1 and 2. Next I was going to setup the original Exchange 2000 server to route the appropriate email to the new Exchange 2003 server once the mailboxes were moved over.
The problem is the new Exchange 2003 server doesn't seem like it's running correctly. The System Attendant, Information Store, and other Exchange services don't appear in Services. Just the Microsoft Exchange Management service is displayed. In the Exchange System Manager, Administrative Groups, Administrative Group Name, and then Servers, the new Exchange 2003 server doesn't appear there, only the original Exchange 2000 server.
Is there something more I need to do so the new Exchange 2003 server is recognized by the original Exchange 2000 server?
I would appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you,
Ryan
