How do I upgrade Exchange System Manager 2000 to Exchange System manager 2003 on Windows XP?

Hi,
I have a cleint who has Goodlink installed on a Windows 2000 Server. This machine has ESM 2000 (Exchange System Manager) installed to connect to our actual Exchange server. We have a seperate box running Windows 2003 Server, Exchange 2003 Server and ESM 2003. Goodlink has told me we need to upgrade ESM 2000 to ESM 2003 on the Windows 2000 (Goodlink) Server. I haven't been able to find much info on that. Goodlink told me to just run the same setup you do to install ESM 2003 from the Exchange Disk. Of course they also said they didn't really handle the install so I'd like to make sure I know what I am doing first.  I'm supposed to be doing this tonight, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
David

Are you having problems doing it?

Just start the installation of exchange on the 2000 machine, and when it asks you to select components, just select management tools

No major problems so far, just wanted to get a second opinion. The machine is business critical so it has to be running in the morning.
I got a message saying I don't have Exchange Service Pack 3 installed and need to install that before I can do the upgrade.
You could uninstall the existing ESM as opposed to just upgrading it - but it is up to you.

And, like an exchange server, you must service pack the ESM installs as well

It makes sense to uninstall the ESM first instead of the service pack. Though I didn't do the original Goodlink Configuration so I don't know if there are any settings that need to stay. Sadly Goodlink only has support till 5pm and this can't be done during the day.
i have never heard of goodlink, but there is little that can be custom configured in ESM that won't be picked up in a reinstall (ESM is just a display of what is happening on the servers)

Goodlink is very simiair to Blackberry Enterprise Server. It works on Palm OS Treos and lets people Sync up their email, calendar and tasks.
Anyways all went well. I installed Exchange 2000 SP3 then ESM 2003. Everything was fine. It just would have been bad is something went wrong as Goodlink isn't availble till morning and the whole company is pretty much addicted to their Treos.
thanks
for the advice.
