Outlook getting disconnected from exchange due to user execeded max no of MAPI connections
Hi,
Outlook 2003 SP2 connected to exchange 2003 SP2. A user is getting disconnected from exchange saying the user execeded max no of MAPI connections. Event viewer i can see event 9646 with writing
Mapi session "/o=First Organization/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=use r" exceeded the maximum of 32 objects of type "session".
Ive seen MS KB 842022, 830829 and some other KBs realted to same error. Saw http://forums.msexchange.org/m_200018000/mpage_1/tm.htm as well as
https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/22086814/Cannot-open-Outlook-profile-unable-to-open-default-e-mail-folders-you-must-connect-to-your-ms-exchange-server-computer-with-the-current-profile-before-you-can-syncronize-your-folders.html?sfQueryTermInfo=1+32+exceed+maximum+object+session+type&anchorAnswerId=18391242#a18391242
All saying the same. The only thing i didnt try was increasing the max no of sessiong in reg as per KB.
The main reason is i saw other users saying after increasing sessions value also they getting the same error. Anyone have a solution for this.
Thanks

Simon,
Thanks for ur reply. Only one user is facing this problem right now. This user is in the same LAN as my exchange server and the user is on a wireless connection. This user is not using any Blackberry or mobile device or anything of that sort. In my LAN i have so many users connected through wireless. Do you think connected over wireless can cause a problem? Ive observered another problem in same LAN.
There are some users in LAN who are connected to exchange server as POP3 clients through wireless. Sometimes when they are trying to send mails of some 1 MB and more the connection keeps on time out and sometimes it goes very fast. What i do is i close outlook and open again. Sometimes when i close and open it goes fast. When it gets time out, if i open OWA and try to send mail it goes really fast. Like i can send even 4 MB file also within no time. The wireless connection is showing as excellent all the times.
Even my exchange and AD, GCA all are in same LAN connected over Gigabit port through Switch. Do you think there is some relation between this problem and the one i mentioned before?
Please help me. Let me know if you need any more information.
Thanks in advance.

MSN Messenger doesn't connect to Exchange, although it does interact with Outlook. However I run messenger on my own machines and don't see any MAPI errors.
Considering you have issues with both POP3/SMTP and MAPI I would be looking outside of Exchange. A wired connection would be the quickest way of showing of the issue is with the wireless or not.

Simon,
Thanks for your help and iam accepting your suggestion regarding wireless as the answer. After moving the user to cable there was no problem. But i dont think there is anything wrong with Wireless Configuration. Normal browsing and all are very fine as well as wireless connection shows "Excellent" status.
Anyways, do you have any suggestion to check in wireless configuration?
Thanks

I have seen so many problems with wireless that just "go away" after time or after a reinstall of the wireless network drivers. Very difficult to troubleshoot, particularly if other areas work correctly.

Do you have other things accessing the mailboxes? Blackberry, Windows Mobile, third party applications etc?
It could also be an indication of poor connectivity to the Exchange server, with sessions being frequently broken.
