Porblems sharing calendars other than default

Greetings,

I have no problem in outlook 2003/Exchange 2003 environment in sharing a default calendar between users.  But I am stumped in how I can share a claendar that is other than default.  I know I need to set view rights to the entire mailbox, and then specific permissions on the calendar being shared.

Here's what I'm Doing. The calendar I am trying to share is in my exchange profile. it is not default. it is a seperate calendar called Schedules which is immediately under "Mailbox -My Name" i.e. not a sub of default calendar

I right click on Schedules and hgo to sharing. I add the person who I want to share, getting their address from the GAL.
I give them all but owner rights.

From that user's Outlook, I tried accessing Schedules from "open shared calendar"----> Their user name from GAL.
But I am told I do not have permission to read the calendar.  I surmise that this is talking about the default calendar . . . .which I am not wanting to share.  But how do I point it to this other Schedules Calendar????

I read somewhere that I needed to give at least view rights on the entire mailbox and then specific permissions on that calendar.  I try this as well. But If I try from the "Open shared Calendar" link on the navigation pane or from File---> Open----Other Users mailbox . . . I only see the default folders and cannot access this Schedules Calendar.

I tried updating the OAB on the Outlook that will be the one requesting the share . . . .to see if somehow it is just not passing on share permissions.

I have accessed several FAQs on this.  Please don't point me to anything. I would appreciate someone taking the time to give me their own step by step.

Again, I want to share other than default calendar with other exchange users.

Thank YOu

Thanks,

I have always used public folders . . .but have never tried to share anything other than public or default calendars.  Guess that's why I could not get it done!
