Exchange 2000 - Repeat send of message

Hello everyone,

I have an Exchange 2000 server.  An email was sent from our server on Friday.  It was an email with several attachments - one of which was a 23 MB .wmv file.  Because of a management directive, I do not have limit set on file sizes.  Obviously, the email did not get delivered to most of the recipients.  However, we have ONE recipient that says he continues to receive the message every 90 minutes.  He spoke to his tech support and they said the problem has to be on our end.  Where can I check to determine if my Exchange server is continuing to resend this message?

TIA,
Susan

Thank you for this information.  I checked all of my queues on the through Exchange System Manager for SMTP and they are all empty.  When I select Enumerate 100 Messages, I get a message stating "There are no matching messages queued."

I downloaded the MFCMAPI utility and have followed your instructions.  I appear to have 2 TEMP TABLES folders - a TempTable#1 and a TempTable#2.  Should I go ahead and clear all of the content in both?  Will this in anyway effect what my users are currently sending?

Thanks!
Susan
yes.
any messages in the queues will be deleted also with the temp tables.
do this after office hours

Great.  I will do it today after work.  Is this a process that usually takes some time or does the system handle the delete quickly?  Just wondering for scheduling purposes.
the only process that takes time is to locate the temp tables and delete the unwanted emails

I'm sorry, I have one more question.  In your instructions, you said,

"Scroll and double click SMTP.
You would find Temp Tables listed in the left pane of the open window.
This is the space where the outbound internet messages are stored in the mailbox store.
You may wish to examine contents in the subfolders that exist under the main TEMP TABLES.
You should find a lot of the popular spam messages"

The subfolders I see under the TempTables are displayed as #1 through #19.  As I click on each one of those, I am seeing what appears to be a property page on the right side of the window which looks like a bunch of attribute with assigned values, most of which appear to be in hex or are encrypted.  Am I looking in the right place to see the outgoing messages?

If it matters, when I look at the SMTP Mailbox through Exchange System Manager, the total number of items is 0 and the total size is 0.
the smtp mailbox size does not make a difference
the sub folders under the temp tables are actually 20. (they start with #0)
you doubleclick on them and then a new window comes up which would list the messages stuck in them
to delete the temptables, you hightlight the top folder (TempTables#1) and right click on it and select the delete folder option
a new window should come up with a small checkbox to hard delete the items
check that box and hit OK
all the emails in the store's temptables will be deleted.

Thank you - that solved the problem.
