I get:
Event Type: Error, Event Source: ESE, Event Category: Database Corruption,
Event ID: 447
Description:Information Store (5288) O2ideas: A bad page link (error -338)
has been detected in a B-Tree (ObjectId: 19, PgnoRoot: 112) of database
C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb (9192254 => 1700241, 790704701).

i get an error message in my event viewer for my exchange server which says "a page link error (-378) has been detected in B-tree" . i am running exchange 2003 on windows server 2000 OS sp4.

this problem started happening around the time my company was having power problems due to storms. so we servers would be shutdown like every 20minutes due to lack of power. i am wondering whether this may have caused a corruption to my database or potentially affected the RAID on my server.

from my research This event is often caused by a hardware failure or antivirus software scanning of the database file directory. i am not scanning the server with AV so that is out. unfortunately my backup where not going through so i can not restore my Database to a specific point.
my option is to do a hard repair. i don't like that option because i will lose some of my users information. is there any other alternative?Start Free Trial
