The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Problems replying with Outlook Web Access from a Exchange 2003 server.

Asked by gleasoninc in Exchange Email Server, Windows XP Operating System

We have some users who are using IE 6 and IE7 that are having problems when replying to emails offsite using Outlook Web Access.  We are currently running Exchange 2003.    The machines in question are Windows XP machines.

When they go to reply to an email, it does not bring up a new email box with the original email about an inch down so you can reply.  It brings up a new email, and the original email is showing, but there is no room at the top to write your reply.  And you cannot force any.  You can't click in and hit any keys or move it down for you to reply. (or delete any/all of the original email).

It does allow you to type at the END of the email, but not to click up through the prior (original) email at all.  The users you are answering don't think to go to the end and read your reply, so you effectively can't reply.

This does not happen 100% of the time, but happens enough on specific machines to be annoying.  I can't figure out what's causing it to do this on some emails.  It seems to be coming from something in IE, but I have run all the Microsoft updates and then updated IE to the most recent IE, but it doesn't seem to help.

Is there a setting in IE that will fix this?  Or can I somehow blow away the current IE (I know, I know) and reload?

Thanks,
