The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Hi All,
Just wondering if someone can help me out here. When I try to synchronize internet email I get three errors in the event viewer.

source: pop3 connector    catagory: download    event id :1036
An error occurred during a POP3 transaction to server <pop.bizmail.yahoo.com [mainusername@domain.com]>. The error is 0 (The operation completed successfully.)
((( The error is 0, But completed successfully, Really Confusing)))

source: pop3 connector    catagory: download    event id :1023
The downloading process for mailbox <mainusername@domain.com]>.  [pop.bizmail.yahoo.com]> was ended with one or more errors.
((( Where else is there to look for errors, or an error log)))

source: pop3 connector    catagory: download    event id :1019
The message download process finished with one or more errors.
((( Same as above, where????)))

Clicking on the link to Microsoft yeilds:
We're sorry
There is no additional information about this issue in the Error and Event Log Messages or Knowledge Base databases at this time. You can use the links in the Support area to determine whether any additional information might be available elsewhere.

I can access the global Yahoo mailbox throught the interenet, and I've made sure the password was correct several times. Currently I have one user downloading all the email then distributing internally.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

02.19.2008 at 10:02AM PST, ID: 20930826
I've checked with Yahoo Biz Support, ( What Support, For a company avertising for business email solutions their answer was, Sorry we don't support email on Exchange Server, There is nothing we can do.) Although I did confirm I had the correct POP3 server.

Ok, I'm still having issues. No matter what I've tried. I've research tons of webpages and have found nothing that has even come close to helping me with this issue. I didn't think this would be such an issue. Please anyone, Is there something I inadvertantly turhed off? Turned on? Didn't install? I read some where to delete the rules for port 110, but since I don't have firewall enabled, (temp) where else would the rules be????? Help......

The only way to find out what's causing this is to follow the POP3 Connector Troubleshooting Guide.

Step 1: The issue occurs when the POP3 Connector related dll files are
corrupt, or a corrupt pop3 connecter database

1 Register all the dill files in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Networking\POP3

Step 2: if  the Pop3 Connector database is corrupt, to
fix this perform the following steps:

1. Rename the IMBdata.dat, IMBdata.bak, and the IMBProtocol.dat files under
%programfiles%\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Networking\POP3
directory
2. Restart the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes service. This will
recreate the IMBdata.dat and IMBProtocol.dat files Initiate another
download to test.

3. reenter the email pop3 download info

4. Initiate another download

Thanks All, but my customer decided to go to build another server. Not through me though. I guess the just ot tiered of me tring different things and not getting anywhere. Wish I could have at least tried any of these fixes. I guess the sting is dead at this point, until someone has this error again.
Thanks again for your help.
