store.exe and inetinfo.exe never release memory

HI,

We were previously experiencing problems with OWA with memory issues.  since increasing virtual memory, problem seems to have gone away.  However, i now notice that store.exe and inetinfo.exe mem usage constantly grows and does not release...forcing a restart of IIS every two weeks.  

any help will be greatly appreciated.

That is usually caused by third party applications. Exchange itself is very good with releasing memory. I would start by removing third party applications to see if the memory is released correctly, particularly if you have anything developed by Symantec.

the store will grab onto as much ram as it can - it is basically jsut a huge database

this is by design

as for inetinfo? you could always schedule a job to stop and restart the services at 3am each day if that resolves the problem

i had symantec mail security stopped previous to my post.  the only other third party software i have is GFI running.

Stopping the applications is not enough due to the way they hook in to the application. You have to remove them.
Is that GFI ME? If so both that and Symantec have been known to cause this problem. Therefore I would be looking to remove both of those and then rebooting the server.

In some cases the problem can be cleared up by reinstalling the applications after a reboot.

I find that over the course of the month the store.exe will grow.  Only by a few hundred mb but it may start at a gb and end the patching cycle around 1.3 gb.
