Basically I have an exchange 2007 server and I am trying to use my ISP's SMTP server so that I don't get emails blocked. &nbsp;I have done this in Exchange 2003 before but can't figure out how to make a Send connector under the hub transport. &nbsp;I installed Exchange 2007 SP1 with the top 4 options (custom install) I didn't install an Edge server, is this necessary to use an alternate ISP SMTP serve, or is Exchange 2007 better at registering itself as a safe sender?<br />

Interactions between email servers and clients are governed by email protocols. The three most common email protocols are POP, IMAP and MAPI. Most email software operates under one of these (and many products support more than one).  The correct protocol must be selected, and correctly configured, if you want your email account to work.
