Setup exchange for pop users HELP

I have remote users on SBS 2003 that pop in to get their mail...we had mail going through my isp account i.e a bellsouth.com.  We have now switched isp and they do not offer relaying.  How do i setup my exchange to allow authenticated users to relay mail.  I have port 110 in my firewall going directly to my exchange box and im still getting "none of the authentication methods are supported by your server" on my client.  I have the client setup to use the same username/password as incoming since its on the same exchange...and under exchange virtual smtp server relaying is allowed to authenticated users check box, HELPStart Free Trial
