Question
cannot create new mailboxes in Exchange 2000
when creating a new user in AD I have the box checked to also create a new exchange mailbox. User creates succesfully but no mailbox appears in the Exchange System Manager.

Exchange is a database. When you created the user all you did was mail enable the user, you did not create a mailbox object. That is created when it is required. That will either be when the user logs in to their mailbox with Outlook/OWA for the first time or when the user account receives a message.

Just as Simon said, all you need to do is, either connecting the users Outlook to the Exchange server, or else opening the OWA (Outlook Web access) http://serverip/exchange .. and once it prompts you the username and password. The mailbox is created and can be seen in Exchange system manager.

Please help me for Exchange 2000.
1. I create new user and check box for create exchange mailbox in Active Directory, was completed and no error.
2. Logon with new user in workstation, no error.
3. Make configuration for MS-Outlook for use the exchange mail, but can't see the mailbox?
4. I try to check in Exchange server, the mailbox not appear. try use exchange task for deleted mailbox and recreate in exchange task wizart, it not workint
5. Why mailbox not have been created?
TORSAKTA - this is an old question. Unlike a forum it is not possible to "bump" questions back up the list. The only people who will see your post are those that have already participated. The mailbox is created when a user logs in the mailbox for the first time. Then you can see his mailbox in the Exchange system manager.
