We are trying to setup a journaling mailbox and server for use with GFI mail archiver.
current setup: Microsoft Exchange 2003 (5 severs):
A. Front End server (1)
B. Back end servers (4)
I have checked the box in teh Mailbox Store properties for one of the back end server to 'Archive all messages sent or received by mailboxes on this store' and specified a mailbox (journal) to send the messages to. This works. The journal mailbox is getting emails.
The problem comes about 20 minutes after enabling journaling. Users whose mailboxes reside on the specified mailbox store stop receiving mail. When I look at the Front End server's queues the "Messages awaiting directory lookup" queue is storing all of the mail that should be sent on to the back end server. I cannot force a connection and get the mail to go through until I remove the check mark to 'Archive all messages...'
Any ideas why messages are making it to the journaling server and mailbox, but not to the users server and mailbox?
