Smtp connector overides recipient policy

Hello all,

Our office uses exhange via an SBS 2003 server. we have 3 mailboxes and I have them configured using a Pop3 connector to retrieve messages and an SMTP connector for outgoing (Non external exchange, if thats the correct terminology)

I have had everything working fine until my ISP changed to Gapps. This only affects our Outgoing mail as we used our ISP account to connect via the SMTP connector.  Our Incoming mail is a seperate Service.

As a result of the Gapps change, I had to reconfigure the STMP Connector to use TLS, add in the domain name on the username and then edit the SMTP Protocol to Port 465.   I am not sure if this is this change caused the  problem. However my issues occured directly after changing this information so it seems pretty obvious there is something going on as a result.

The SMTP connector is configured to send mail through this address:  pct@fidnet.com
Our Domain name is:  @pctechinc.com . The Pop3 connector snags the messages from the pctechinc.com domain. We donot host mail on this Server, only use the Pop3 connector to get our mail from the host.

I can recieve great and even send without issues.

The problem that does occur since I updated the SMTP connector, is when sending messages, the reply address shows: pct@fidnet.com  not the %@pctechinc.com that it once was.

I had a similar issue when I first configured this where the reply to was showing @pct.local
At that time I fixed it via the recipient policy (E.g created an smtp/ @pctechinc.com and set to primary in the Policy)     Worked great.

However now, it seems that no matter what i do or change, our Reply address ALWAYS shows as the e-mail address used in the SMTP connecter  pct@fidnet.com.  So no matter what I manipulate, the reply to address on ALL senders from here is: pct@fidnet.com

What I have tried:

Restarted Server.  Deleted and recreated the SMTP Connector via Exchange System MAnager (Hereafter known as ESM).   I edited recipient policy, setting @pct.local as primary and then back to @pctechinc.com, applied.  Deleted the SMTP for @pctechinc.com in the policy and recreated.

It seems that no matter what I change, the SMTP Connector  is overriding any global settings for the reply to address on outgoing messages..

I appreciate any thoughts.  Please bear with me, I am a lowly hardware tech and not a Master Network Admin.   Any information that you may need, please donot hesitate to ask!

Thanks in advance
