Question

OWA Out of Office - External replies

Asked by: stevendunne

Hi,

Exchange 2007 - When setting external replies using OWA it's not working.  Internal Out of Office messages are fine are when from OWA.  I've set 'Send Out of Office auto-replies to External Senders' and 'Send Out of Office auto-replies to anyone outside my organization'

My Hub transport is set to 'allow external out of office, and out of office messages set by outlook 2003 or earlier clients'.

External out of office messages work fine when set using the Outlook client.

Please advise?

This has been set since the Exchange server was installed, I haven't changed this setting.  The server has been re-booted a few times.

Setting the out of office from an Outlook client is fine, just OWA not sending external replies, internal replies for OWA is fine.

In OWA with Exchange 2007 there are actually seperate entries for internal Out of Office and External Out of Office. I had a client once that got confused because his internal users got a different message to his external. You probably are well aware of this fact but check it... in OWA go to options / Out of Office Assistant then note there are entries for users inside and outside my organisation.
