cannot remove server that is a target bridgehead (Exchange 2003)
I'm trying to decommision Exchange 2003 server and i am at the point of uninstalling exchange to take the server down.
Getting an error:
"The component Microsoft Exchange Messaging and Collaboration Services cannot be assigned the action Remove because: - you cannot remove a server that is a target bridgehead for a routing group connector. This server is a target bridgehead for the following connections: (Connector Name)"
followed this article to make another server the bridgehead
"http://support.microsoft.com/kb/271997"
Tried to uninstall and still getting the same error.
I know i need to do some more work other than just the above, but was trying....
Any Ideas?
thx alot

The fight is over.
I actually removed the connectors, kept the ones i created when installing exchange 07.
Configured the firewall to route email to new server.
Shutdown exchange services on old server.
tested and all works.
Exchange 03 is off the server now.
Thx for all the help :)

ok, so it is better off create send and receive connector (both) in exchange server 2007 and then delete manually the exchange 2003 connectors after all mailboxes has been migrated successfully ?
