sendmail and exchange relay

i am new to sendmail and microsoft exchnage and scenario is as,
i am running exchange and sendmail in same domain as example.com,
some of my users are on sendmail and some of my users are on exchnage.
the users on exchange (user1@example.com) can send mail to users of exchange and
the users of sendmail (user2@example.com) can send mail to users of sendmail,
my problem is how the users of exchange can send mail to users of sendmail or vice versa
