Hi. I've searched the forums, but although there are a great many who have experienced delays with email in Exchange, I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting this issue. Most seem to be delays in sending from the exchange server.
In this case there is a long delay when staff receive emails from external recipients. It does not happen all the time, but when it does, delays are significant Often 3 hrs, but in one case 8 hrs. These emails do not seem to be coming from a particular domain soley, but from different domains.
I tried to see the cause of the delay in the mail tracking center, but the event detailed in the tracking center are all post-delay. I mean that if an email has been sent by an external sender at 4:27pm and doesn't arrive in the recipient's mailbox until 12:42 am the next day, the first entry in the tracking centre is:
12:41am SMTP: Message submitted to advanced queuing.
The rest only takes a minute to deliver. Normally I would say it is due to external factors (firewall etc) but it has only started since we formatted and reinstalled both servers.
If anyone can help me troubleshoot this issue it would be appreciated.
Thanks
