Re-install OWA/Exchange 2003 without losing mailboxes

Hi,
Our exchange 2003 server got corrupted, I managed to repair it but afterwards OWA was no longer working.  How do I get OWA working again without losing our mailboxes.  Do I just need to backup the data in the MBDATA folders and re-install exchange 2003.  I once found an KB article that detailed it but can't find it again.
