Recurring SMTP Connector Problem

I'm not an Exchange expert although I manage one.  I'm certainly no SMTP/DNS expert but here's our problem.  It seems as though every three months or so, we have to keep ging int the Exchange Server's SMTP connectorand changing it FROM mail.east.cbeyond.com TO "Use DNS" because the mail starts to stack up.  When I call Cbeyond (our ISP) the tell us to use their "new" server which is smtp.cbeyond.com
(Outgoing Port: 587).  When I call my best friends consulting cmpany here in the local area, they typically tell me they always see problems with this ISP's clients and email and to use mail.east.cbeyond.com.

So... because this problem just happened again, I have set the connector settings FROM mail.east.cbeyond.com BACK TO "Use DNS...".  This cleared out the queue as it has done so in the past.  But my guess is - that within the next three months, mail will stack up again on this setting, and if I set the connector back to "mail.east.cbeyond.com" we'll be back in business again.

???

Thanks

Thanks - only response given.  We're STILL having DNS issues on the SMTP connector (DNS routing) periodically...
