Can't get RPC over HTTPS to work on SBS 2003 server w/ISA

I'm having a STRANGE issue that I've been racking my brain on for 2 days. I'm using a single-server SBS 2003 premium w/ISA configured. RPC over HTTPS (Outlook over the Internet) has been working fine but over the past week it just simply stopped working (perhaps a new Windows update bug?). I've tested it using Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003. I've re-run the Internet and Email Connection Wizard MANY times to no avail. Problem is this: I CAN authenticate to the RPC HTTPS directories, but the Mail and Public Folders stay disconnected when I do an RPCDIAG. I've created and re-created mailboxes on the Exchnage box to test, I've un-installed the RPC service and re-run the IECW. I'm positive that the SLL cert is fine. When the remote Outlook connects to setup the account and the proxy settings are configured, it connects to the Exchnage server fine and sets up the user account. However, when I load Outlook, I get an error indicating that Outlook cannot connect to the mailbox and exchange store. When I VPN in, no problem but RPCDIAG shows me that the directory entries are running through HTTYPS but the MAIL and PUBLIC folders are TCP/IP. As soon as I disconnect from the VPN, the directory entries remain established but the mail and public folders either disappear or go to 'Disconnnected' state.  I've also followed the steps to test RPC by going to https://domain.com/rpc - works as expected. Any suggestions? Anyone else having this issue?Start Free Trial
