Using the system manager, i can see all the individual mailboxes (I am using a single store) but I cannot find a section to tell me the total size. For instance if i look up the folder that houses the exchange database, it always tells me 64GB. But if I export the mailbox list from system manager and do a sum of the total, it is roughly 85GB. Exchange 2003 standard sp2 has a max size of 75GB to my knowledge, so what is going on? Thanks.

Exchange users single-instance storage, thus if a message is sent to 20 employees, only one copy is kept. This keeps the size of the store down, but the mailbox list counts this message in the total size for each of those 20 users. Therefore, the total mailbox list will almost always be larger than the actual databaes sizes.
