The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Exchange 2007, Outlook 2007, unable to download OAB

Asked by ancoma in Exchange Email Server

Tags: MIcrosoft, Exchange 2007, OAB

Hi

Only users with the primary SMTP email address yxz@mycompany.com are able to download the OAB.
All other users with another primary email address like yxc@customer1.com receive the error message

Not downloading OAB files. A server (URL) could not be located.  0X8004010F

Can someone explain me what is wrong with our system?
Why does public folder distribution not work?
How can I use other primary email addresses and still download the OAB using Outlook anywhere?

I had expected that the company with public folder distribution would not have that issue because the email address should not be important.

For a company with webbased distribution only I can understand why  the email address must be @mycompany.com because the webserver which distributes the OAB can be reached  only with the domain mycompany.com and the URL to the OAB server is generated by outlook automatically using users's email address.

What we have installed:
We have setup a new system on dedicted machines with windows server 2003 R2 SP2 64bit
- Exchange 2007 Sp1 as CAS
- Exchange 207 Sp1 as Mailserver
- AD/DC/Global Cat server
SSL UCC certificate from digicert, mail.mydomain.com, autodiscover.mydomain.com
Domain internal: mydomain.local
external: mydomain.com

We want to use the system to host multiple cumstomers (Hosted Exchange)

I have created some customers with some users. Customers are in different OUs. Each customer has a company-GAL, company-AL and company-OAB.
The company-OAB distribution properties are set to:
for company 1: client support all and enabled public folder support
for company 2: client support all and enabled public folder support and Web based distribution enabled
for company 3: client support all and Web based distribution enabled, disabled public folder

I can access mailbox using webmail, outlook 2007 with outlook anywhere (RPC over HTTP) and it works fine except the download of the OAB.

Thanks for help.
