(This is a non-standard setup to SBS server, the company did not know all the requirements to effectively run a SBS server with exchange so they have made do with a quirky setup.)
Here is the background:
-Network was setup through a cisco 527 router/modem.
-Each computer on the network was assigned a public address given by the ISP. All computers were able to connect to the SBS server in order to pull up a public calendar. (Primary Account) Also each computer has a pop3 account that they use to get and send mail. The exchange account is secondary in the client.
-I changed the network over to private addressing by placing a Linksys WRT54G router in between the router and switch. Before this change the computers connected and functioned as they wanted after the change all of the computers were fine but two. So just to be clear the only change done on the server and on the computers was that they were switched to dynamic addressing rather than static.
The problem machines are running Windows XP Home, so they are not logging into their computer via a domain account it is a local account and outlook is connecting to the exchange server directly and requiring a user name and password that is setup on the exchange server to login.
"The action could not be completed. The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." is the error outlook gives then gives the option to Retry, Work Offline, or Cancel. If I click Retry the pop-up comes right back up, if i click work offline user is able to get into outlook and receive mail via their pop3 account but cannot open the public folder calendar.
On the SBS server the following event log is created in the security organizational unit:
Server Error Messaages (mainly 2 under Security): (Event IDs 529 and 537)
Event Type: Failure Audit
Event Source: Security
Event Category: Logon/Logoff
Event ID: 529

Time: 1:43:37 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: Exchange

Source Network Address: 192.168.0.14
-I have tried resetting the password on the account to no avail.
- Is there any reason why I would be getting this after simply changing the IP address scheme for the office? If so, how come all other computers with the same configurations in most cases software and hardware, be working without a hitch? But these two computers refuse to cooperate.
Happy to provide more details, I am not an expert in this area yet, but hungry to stomp this issue.
