The exchange information store services keeps stopping when users access email

There seems to be a major problem with our exchnage 2000 system. The exchnage information store services will start but when a users access email via outlook it just stops and say the users cant access network . I have tryed rebooting server restarting service but it keeps stopping.  I hope any one has some ideas why
