I was hoping that there was an esier way to do this.
What I'm hoping for is an object like a resource mailbox (e.g. room) but like a public calendar, where you can see, at a glance, the schedule. For instance, if I want to use the conference room's large table for a project, I'd like to be ale to see if it's going to be in use when I want to use it, rather than creating a meeting and waiting to see if the room rejects or accepts it.
If it is indeed the case, that you can't do this, then it makes the usefullness of resource mailboxes virtually useless.
I'd like to see if anyone else has some comments.

Resource mailboxes in Exchange 2007 will not show in the PF tree. They show in the OAB, under the heading "All Rooms", provided you created the resource mailbox as a room mailbox. There's also an equipment mailbox option. That's how you view the resource mailboxes after creation. But you won't get them to show in the PF tree. They are not public folders.
