auth smtp the connection was dropped by the remote host

Hi
i'm using auth smtp as a relay server, sometimes a rety state will come up when an outgoing message is in the queue, and the following message will appear "the connection was dropped by the remote host" There is nothing in the event logs. I have just recently enabled tracking logs on the smtp service....and nothings appears in the logs that look unusual, the only thing i can really think of is this message here comes up before the connection to auth smtp is made:

Do you think it could be something with ESMTP?

The funny thing is , is that my emails do go through, it just looks like the inital smtp connection fails at the first attempt., can anyone help, I'm running out of ideas.
