I have a question related to RDNS checks done on e-mail.
THEORETICAL:
I have a webserver hosting files for example.com with an IP address of xxx.xxx.xxx.100 . The mail server (and MX record) for this domain point to mail.example.com which has an IP address of xxx.xxx.xxx.200 . Now, when mail.example.com sends out e-mail on behalf of example.com (say info@example.com) will that mail fail a RDNS test because example.com has a different IP address than the mail.example.com server?
Could this cause issues with, for example, Windows Live Mail or Yahoo?
Clarification would be appreciated.
