Exchange 2003 Database Move process does not complete
I have SBS sever running Exchange 2003 server sp2. The database fies are 36GB in total.
I start the process to move the db to a disk with bigger capacity. The proccess gets to 100% but does not complete. in the Application log this is the error
he MAPI call 'OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error:
The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed.
The MAPI provider failed.
Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
ID no: 8004011d-0512-00000000
Has anybody seen this error before

There are many resone for this
the error code you add here mean that your exhcange database is not mounted or the information store service is down
Please review event log for other error
Make sure that you have the permsission on the target Disk

if I mount the db in the original location then everything works fine is this only happing when I try to move the mailbox db. The transaction logs moved fine

check this and then one quick fix is to gracefully shutdown the database, make an offline copy and move the database to new location... once this is done change the location in adsiedit to point to new location...

cannot backup the system symantec says its crumpt.
