Are you saying that this technique won't bring over their calendar items and/or if they do come over the user won't be able to modify them? I will try but if you could clarify I would appreciate.

Browse All TopicsI have a situation where a standalone 2003 Outlook PST from a laptop of a new employee was imported into an Exchange account set up for that employee. One problem has cropped up - recurring appointments are not owned by the mailbox user for some reason and hence they can't be deleted/changed. Is there any way short of giving the user admin rights to fix this? Import in a different way? Export the original file to a .csv or some other format that strips ownership off the items and then import?

I'm not sure if the "this procedure" you're talking about is your procedure or my procedure.
The procedure you followed should have brought over the calendar items and given permissions for the user to control those items.
The procedure I proposed should also give the user full permissions over their own calendar items. Just make sure the user has full control file permissions on the PST. When you 'open' it through Data File Management you can drag and drop the items to the Exchange calendar. I've done this several times (30+) and it has always worked.

You can try opening the PST rather than imporint it (File -> Data File Management -> Add; Choose File -> OK). Once the PST is displayed on the Folder list go to the Calendar. Select All and drag to the Exchange Calendar. (Once everything is moved from the PST you can right-click and disconnect it.)
The user won't get reminders until the calendar items are in the default mail directory anyway so they may as well just be copied over.
