I need to add a front-end Exchange server 2003 to the mix. My email has to go Exchange Back-End -> Zix Box (Linux based) -> Exchange Front End -> Firewall -> Internet and the same (reversed) route on incoming. I think I have the outgoing working ok, but I get stuck on the incoming. How do I tell the Exchange Front End server to send all incoming email to the Zix box and not the Exchange Backend server? The front end will be doing spam/virus/OWA. It seems like this should be a no-brainer, I just cannot find the option or documentation.
Thanks in advance

It is a design impossibility. Once the mail enters the Exchange Organization, you can no longer influence the route it takes. The only processing you can do is to use the Virus Scan API. You should let the incoming mail enter your black box first, and route it into the Exch Front end from there.
