The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Not recieving mail on certain domain in SBS 2003

Asked by guycampbell in Exchange Email Server

Tags: small business server 2003

Hi,
I have small business server 2003 R2 set up and receiving my mail directly. Currently it is working fine for 2 domains one of which is our primary domain.

We have set up the MX records for our primary domain along with 2 other domains we own to point at the external IP of our office server. As said before we are receiving email on the primary domain and one of the other domains fine but the third domain is not getting though.

I have checked the MX records for the domain that does not work and found everything to be set up the same as the others that do work. The DNS records were updated 3 weeks ago so its not a propagation issue and if I ping mail.ourbrokendomain.co.uk i get a reply from our office server as with the other functioning domains.

Therefore I am assuming there is no issue with the MX records and that the fault is on our server. Therefore I have double and triple checked the Recipient policy of which we have only one default policy which contains an SMTP rule for all three domains the two that work and the one that does not.

Firstly is there a limit to how many domains can be defined in 1 recipient policy?

I have then checked that there is a user set up on the server using info@ourbrokendomian.co.uk which there is and that user has a mailbox as it is able to receive internal mail, just not external yet.

I have looked at the message tracking centre which shows the internal mails the user has received however there is nothing at all for the external mail sent to the same address.

I really need some advice on what next to look at.

Regards,

Guy
