Exchange 2007 rejoin Server 2003 domain?

Recovering from a hardware failure on my Exchange box (all 4 roles), and I am stuck...

Background: Dedicated 64bit Windows Server 2003 machine with Exchange Server 2007 in a Server 2003 domain. All SP's, rollups, etc, are current. We suffered some extraordinary electrical event that damaged the motherboard and/or processor. Both were replaced with similar (same manufacturer, class, etc) pieces and the machine was rebooted. Amazingly, only a few driver issues needed to be cleaned up and NIC details squared away. That's the good part...

I brought the machine back to the rack for final install, but it no longer recognizes 3Ware RAID card! More testing determines card is dead now too and is sent back for RMA. That's that bad part... or at least stage 1 of the bad part...

In the meantime, a new drive is added in an effort to get the machine back up and limping along until replacement card comes back. Did a basic install of Server 2003 on new drive and brought it up to date with all SP's, etc. Following directions I was given, I did NOT join the server to the domain yet, but did image the install at this point. Then I restored (ntbackup) a recent full system backup over the basic Server 2003 install.

Jumped through the same hoops with some driver issues like before, but it all went very smoothly. The problem is, I can only log on to the local Admin account, and the Event Log is filled with all sorts of Active Directory related errors. I can post them here if you want 'em.

If this was just a work station, I would disjoin and rejoin the domain, but with Exchange along for the ride, I am very weary of this.

Any suggestions on where I go from here?

Since GID and SID of system must have got change you will have to disjoin and rejoin this system one more time.
If you upload event error numbers and source of event it will be better.

The disjoin / rejoin scenario seems like the logical approach, but will Exchange survive it?

I'll post the event ID's and such in a bit. I'm just catching an image of the drive right now.

Last backup was error free and clean state. Hostname and IP were resolvable, DNS working, etc. Again, I'll add more when the image is completed.

Thanks.

Mestha; thanks for your comment. I just found the Technet procedure a few minutes ago. Seems easier than the way I was told to do it in the first place...

To follow up, yes, all the domain account info is intact, the problem was related to just the one box. I had not installed Exchange again, but it was 'brought back to life' via the NTBackup restore.

vikasjus; the disjoin / rejoin routine seemed to have worked very well and I don't have any issues from it yet.
