Exchange 2003 Public Folder Instances not going away after replica move to Exchange 2007

I am transitioning from Exchange 2003 SP2 to a single server Exchange 2007 SP1 server running on Windows 2008 Server.  I have all mail flowing in and out of the Exchange 2007 server and all mailboxes have been moved to Exchange 2007.  I have replicated all Public Folders to Exchange 2007 and then moved all replicas from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007.
I have waited several days for the Exchange 2003 System Manager to show 0 public folder instances, but they are all still there.  The public folder data is fully replicated to Exchange 2007 and users can access the public folders even when the Exchange 2003 Public Folder database has been dismounted.  Does anyone know how I can possibly get the "move all replicas" function to work so that I can finally delete the exchange 2003 public folder store?  Every public folder only shows the Exchange 2007 server as  a replica.

I've got about 100 public folders instances that will not go away.
I'm not sure I understand your solution limjianan.  If I back up all the public folder instances to .pst files, then what?  I currently have all the replicas showing on the new Exchange 2007 server and everyone is able to access them.  If I look in replica tab for each public folder, only the Exchange 2007 server shows up.  If I dismount the Exchange 2003 Public Folder store, everyone is still able to access the public folders.  So, all the data has moved to the new server.  It is just that I can't delete the public folder database on Exchange 2003 because "Public Folder INstances" are all still showing there.   Would the steps be to recreate a replica on the Exchange 2003 server before deleting?  If you could provide steps that would help.  thanks

I tried dismounting the exchange 2003 public folder store, renaming the public.edb and public.stm to public.edb.old and public.stm.old and then remounting the store.  This creates a new public.edb and public.stm file.  However, all of the public folder instances are still visible even though there is no data in the store.  I am thoroughly confused.
yes, it is just sending a beacon back and forward and has broken.

alot of information is stored in the adsiedit not the store..

usually, if you make sure the public folder instance size is the same, you jsut backup and delete the folder to make sure you can properly delete the public folder.

So, after I renamed the exchange 2003 .edb and .stm files and remounted the public folder database, I then moved all replicas again.  This time, all my public folders disappeared from the Public Folder Instances folder except the system public folders:  Schema-Root, StoreEvents, OWAScratchPad and Offline Address Book.  I can't seem to get these out of there.  Any suggestions?

I ended up uninstalling exchange on the Exchange 2003 server after removing the routing connectors, RUS service and Offline address book move.  There were 4 public folders left on Exchange 2003 that I simply could not get rid of.  Hopefully this doesn't come back to bite me.  Thanks for all the help limjianan.
