I am looking for a solution to get redundancy for Exchange 2003 server... i would like to get a standy server (which is already in place) to be up and running as quickly as possible... which software would be best suited for the job? pros and cons?
I have had a look at Acronis True Image server & Acronis Backup for Exchange .... though havent yet tried it ... do i need both these softwares or just the True Image server?
Any other software to get the above job done would be an option to study.

Those are manual solutions. What happens if your server goes down at 6:30 PM on the Friday of a 3 day weekend? You'll lose mail if you're not aware of the failure to manually backup and restore.
Exchange 2007 has features to help resolve this...
Or I would suggest you consider a product like DoubleTake or NeverFail - these solutions are less expensive than clustering (but still expensive) and should provide automatic recovery if a server fails.
Remember the rule - the longer you can be without the service, the cheaper it is.
You will not get instant fail over for small amounts of cash.
On Exchange 2003, without going to clustering, your only solutions for automatic fail over are those that are already mentioned, NeverFail, DoubleTake or WanSync. You will need additional hardware for them as well.
Exchange 2007 gives you additional options built in, but would still require Enterprise edition of both Exchange and Windows for the full functionality.

I implemented something similar with DoubleTake. Definitely recommended.
You set it up , let it run besides your main box. And if your main box goes down , Doubletake transforms your backup machine into an exact copy of the main box.
It's a great way to get a redundant server.
As Leew said , in Exchange 2007 there's the Local Continuous Replication feature that basically keeps an exact synchronized copy of your mailbox stores running somewhere else. If your store fails , the copy takes over
