Help setting up Send As permission under Exchange 2003
Evening all,
I'm having trouble setting up Send As permission for an email account.
We have a generic Support address that multiple people can access. We have a requirement for all of these users to be able to send mail as Support, and for any replied to come back to the support address.
When I initially installed Exchange I followed the instructions on the following site to set this up:-
http://blogs.msdn.com/exchange/archive/2005/01/07/348596.aspx
Thios has worked perfectly fine, and out Support inbox is working jsut as required.
Recently we have setup a new mailbox that needs similar access, but regardless of having followed the exact same set of instructions no-one is able to Send As this second account.
I've been through it all a number of times, assigned what I believe to eb the correct permissions, but whenever I try to send as this second account I receive an internel bounce saying:-
You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.
I'd appreciate some help in getting Send As working correctly on this second account as I cannot see what I am doing differently.

SELF has full Mailbox Access permission under mailbox rights, and adding people into the Send On Behalf Of section allows mails to be sent.
However, the mails show as being from "John Smith on behalf of Support" instead of being directly from Support as per our other communal email address. I've checed the Send On Behalf Of section on this functioning communal address and it has no names entered.
However I've looked at the permissions for SELF under the Security tab, and there are some differences between the functional and non-functional account so I'm going to set those the same and see what happens.
Are there any other suggestions in the interim?

Suggest to compare the Mailbox Rights (look at the group that includes your support staff) for both old and new mailboxes.

The problem turned out to be caused by the user being a member of the Administrators group, and so the SendAs permission was being automatically removed periodically.
I'll split the points on this question since both experts tried to help.

@igor I'll check out the additional permissions you mention.
