The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Why return path is of active mailbox incase of sending mail 'on behalf of'?

Asked by A1opus in Exchange Email Server, OE-WindowsLive, Active Directory

Scenario:

We are using Windows Server 2003 R2 Ent. and Exchange 2003

We have setup up some external contacts in our AD and added them to the specific distribution group called abc-group and then created a user (xyz) who can only email to abc-group.

Our some users will use xyz account as their secondary mailboxes, means they have to announce or send some things on abc-group. We gave full mailbox rights and 'On behalf of" permissions to those users.

Problem:

Now when users send email to abc-group on behalf of xyz and recipients of abc-group try to reply back, some of them cant and in case of some users reply comes back to the sender's mailbox. We are facing this issue because outlook doesn't support two mailboxes for sending emails so therefore we have to send on behalf of. I noticed that in case of on behalf of, the returned path shows the email address of active mailbox only, i.e. if john@hhh.com is sending email to abc-group@hhh.com on behalf of xyz@hhh.com, john's email address will be shown in return path instead of xyz@hhh.com therefore John will get the reply.

The interesting part is this if you send email to abc-group and internal user on behalf of xyz. Internal user can reply back to xyz but recipients of abc-group are not because of external users, I dont know.

Any suggestions or comments on it?
