Install Smart Host on Edge Server

I want to install a connector to a smart host on the Edge Transport Server. But when I do this I get a error that the connector must be installed on the HUB Transport Server. On the Send Connectors tab I can see 2 Edgesync connectors. When I install the SMPT connector on the Hub Transport server  then my mail is not going throug the smart host but through the normal way. Can somebody tell me how I configure a SMTP connector to a smart host with a edge transport server role?
