Connecting Iphone 2.0 to Exchange 2003 SP2

I am having trouble syncing an iphone with MS Exchange.  Any help is appreciated.

I have completed the "Exchange Active Sync" setup on the iphone and successfully connected to the mail server.

When I attempt to open the email via the iphone inbox, I receive the following error...
"Cannot Get Mail.  The connection to the server failed."

1.  What are the server requirements for connecting an iphone 2.0 to MS Exchange?

2.  What are the step by step instructions for both the server and iphone that must be performed to connect the devices?

I don't quite get why you think you need "Step by Step Instructions" for both the Server and the iPhone.

So, heres some hints to help you on your way.

In your office, if you enter https://servername/owa   or https://servername/exchange  do you get access to your Webmail?

From outside your organisation, if you enter  https://mail.yourcompany.com/owa or https://mail.yourcompany.com/exchange  (insert the correct URL of course!) do you still get access to your webmail?

If you answered NO to either of these, you need to go looking for assistance on the SERVER side of things, as if you can't do that from a browser, your iPhone can't connect to exchange either!

If you CAN get access to these, try checking your iPhone exchange settings, or look through this walkthrough:

As other experts have intimated there could be a number things wrong and therefore we are better to rule out things and then get you sorted.
Easiest way to start this is for you to use:

Do an active sync test and enter the required info in then post back the info..
The iPhone is not good at giving you a nice error message...
