memory error

30% of the time I open internet explorer i get the following error>
the instruction at 0x71a6b2fa referenced memory at 0x0000008. The memory could not be read.

It doesn't happen everytime but enough to be a pain. It only happens with internet explorer. Any ideas?

Sounds like either a corrupted Addon, or maybe just some bad files for IE....

You can try the Reset Button in the Advanced Tab of IE Options.

Or try disabling all addons, and see if you can narrow it down......
Also, the Safe Mode for IE, is launched from a Run Dialog...

iexplore -extoff

Also, there should b a shortcut for it, under your System Tools folder in Accessories....

Are you sure about starting in Safe Mode?  Starting without Add-ons, yes.  Safe Mode ???

cnmgt--Using iexplore -extoff  is a good idea.  But have a look at all the effects of using the Reset button

IE's Safe Mode, not Windows Safe Mode....... I know it isnt an official term, but you get the idea.....
