Main Topics
Browse All TopicsWe have a hosted exchange application and the client is running outlook 2007. The client is getting "out of space" messages - Send folder is too large, mail is going into outbox is one message. There was a pop up box that the size was larger than allowed - with choices to delete various items - deleted mail, for example.
No other client has this issue. The size of the exchange box is set to 3GB, the client's mail is 1.7GB. The clients mailbox on another computer does not have this issue. The client is getting frustrated - she cannot send or receive mail when this happens.
Thanks.

Business contact manager is also being used. I looked around at some settings and tried to document in a file. (for example I tried to move an item from the outbox to draft and got the size error.
The .ost file is 1.9gb. is there some boundry in 2007 in the registry like there was in earlier versions? OR BCM? I cannot find anything that matches http://support.microsoft.c
I am really stumped with this one. Deleting items seesm to work temproarily - there has to be something setting a threshold to 2gb. Any ideas anyone?
thank you

I figured out the solution. For some reason this account was set up without the Unicode setting checked in outlook 2007 Tools->Options->Other->Advanc
Once that was set, a new profile created, and the .ost file downloaded to the client, I populated the file well past 2/5GB with no issues (except a slight slowdown).
Without that Unicode setting, the file is assumed ANSI and given the 2GB limit. Lots of pain on this one - rebuilding ost files etc.
