The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Exchange 2007 information store fails to start on server boot

Asked by djerryanderson in Exchange Email Server, SBS Small Business Server

Tags: Microsft Exchange 2007 Small Business Server 2008

Having all kinds of trouble with Exchange 2007 (SBS 2008) post SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 migration. Most pressing issue is that the ifo store does not start up when the server starts. I have copied and pasted some of the errors from the event log and also attahed the log here as well.

I want to note too that I am getting other :"oddities" with regards to Exchange as well. I had a user that had Outlook Express configured to her Midiacom email account. She can no longer send email - relaying issue it seems. Outgoing mail server points to the SBS box and even tried all outgoing server authentication options.

Email just locked up today for no good reason. I rebooted the server and there were 136 messages in my queue. DOn;t really know if this "fixed" anything, but I clicked a link to "connect to server" and all the messages started flowing again instantly.

Have Symantec Backup Exec installed. Cannot receive job notifications. Tech from Symantec has tried several things including adding my domain to a list that should be excluded from a junk mail filter (via Exchange command shell).

Anyway, this is getting frustrating because things just don't seem "right", I also noticed that migrated user accounts in AD had different permissions than newly created accounts. Found this online - make sure SELF ad Send as and Receive As permissions on user accounts. Probably not the right thing to do, but I just wen into the advanced permissions of a few of my user accounts and had the inheritable permissions pull down and replace what was there (actually add to what was there). Doesn;t really seem to make any difference.

OK that's it. I would love some help if anyone has any ideas. Thanks an sorry for the bad typing and fragmented sentences.

Errors in event log are as follows:

There are several of these...
