I can't really say as Websense was installed immediately after Exchange and both were operational before we went live with the new server
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsSince migrating to a new Exchange 2003 Server, users are receiving a number of emails with long, cryptic From email addresses. Basically it seems like the friendlyname is being stripped. I also need to add that Websense Email Security sits in front of Exchange on the same box and does all the virus scanning, spam filtering, etc. so it might be the one mucking up the works.
I was just hoping to get some help determining whether this was an Exchange or Websense issue.
Thanks.

This turned out to be a duplicate rule in Websense that was messing with the headers. The bogus rule was doing a find and replace and put the internet email address in the From field that Outlook pulls from. Deleted the rule and everything is looking good again.
