The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

IE8 and OWA 2003

Asked by cymrich in Exchange Email Server, Internet Explorer Web Browser

I have a few users that have upgraded to IE8 and frequently have problems with using Outlook Web Access (Exchange 2003 with SP2).  When they log in it usually acts normal, but when they try to send a new message, or sometimes when they open a message in their mailbox, it will popup a login prompt again.  In the login prompt it will frequently have is set to servername.domain.com\username rather than the domain name\user name  or just the username.  (i.e. the username field will be auto populated with server1.domain.com\jdoe).  Sometimes it will have the DNS address for SMTP in there instead (i.e. mail.domain.com\jdoe).

I've tried correcting it to be just domain\username and then telling it to remember the credentials... but once the window is closed down and reopened it forgets it all.

I've tried this on chrome and firefox and I've noticed that one big difference is that ti does not open these in a new popup window like IE does... not sure if that is related to the issue or not.

Any ideas how to fix this?  right now only a few people are using IE8, but that will change eventually.
