The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Exchange 2003 migration issues

Asked by johnbowden in Exchange Email Server, SBS Small Business Server

Tags: windows 2003 sbs exchange

I have been following the migration document "migrating windows small business server 2003 to new hardware" and I am stuck on an issue to do with the mailboxes
When I migrated the user mailboxes over, everything seemed to go fine except for the fact that after the migration of all the users, there were 7 user accounts that still showed up on the old server with a red X beside them. On the new server, they are showing up properly and the users are currently using their email.

I am trying to remove exchange from the old server now but I think it's these users that are still showing up on the old one that are causing me grief
I've tried to purge them since that is the only option that I have but it fails with an error " the operation cannot be performed because this mailbox was already reconnected to an existing user. ID no: c1034ad6

The main issue is that the installation won't let me remove exchange for 3 reasons:
1. the server is the routing master - confirmed that it isn't
2. you cannot uninstall this server as there is at least one postmaster account currently homed on this server.
3. this server is the recipient update server... - confirmed that it isn't
