Super loud system beep connecting to Server 2008 via RDP

Ok, here's a good one.ONLY on my 2 new Server 2008 boxes do this.  I think its new to server 2008.  When i connect via RDP and do certain things to any config i'll get a SUPER loud system beep.  Even if I tell RDP "no sound", it does.  Did some research and someone said you have to install the desktop experience feature to server 2008 and add a sound card drive and then turn the volume all the way down on the server to fix this.  I did install desktop exp,but haven't been able to figure out anymore than that.  the beep is startling its so loud.

Are you able to fix it by adding the registry key?

Extract from KB

You can disable the system beep function in client rdp sessions by creating the following registry key on the Terminal Server:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server "DisableBeep"=DWORD:00000001

You will have to restart the Terminal Services service for the change to take effect.

I've tried this, restarted the server, which restarts the TS service, and I'm still experiencing beeping. It's 2008 non R2, and I've confirmed the above registry entry.
