The BEST way to sync your emails on iPhones is to use Exchange ActiveSync, for more info check with the following links

Ideally ActiveSync should work out of the box but just make sure that you are all set up by doing a test @ http://testexchangeconnect

On iPhone's you also have Exchange ActiveSync. This will automatically sync with the mailbox and get you any new mails as it arrives in the mailbox.

P.S: Exchange ActiveSync should be configured at the server as well. Most probably it will already be configured there.
