OWA 2003 and MOSS 2007 issue

I was trying to setup calendars, tasks and such for SharePoint to Exchange interaction but I am unable to access OWA internally. Typing in http://server/exchange does not work.

I have exchange and moss running on the same server. I followed the guide here:

and when I got to

http://www.msexchange.org/img/upl/image0021071742780461.jpg

I would get an error saying You can not designate this server as a front end server because this is the only server in the organization.

Is the only way to have web exchange to run thru another server? is there another way i can have sharepoint connect to exchange?

You cannot open OWA because your SSL certificate pointed to old Server.
So you need to create a New CNAME record in Internal DNS like mail.abc.com
And after create a CNAME checked your nslookup.

The msexchange.org link tells you to configure OWA using the FE serve, thats why the error message..
No you can run Exchange OWA on a stand alone server as well, you need a FE server for various means the most widely used scenario is if you have multiple BE servers and you want users to have a single point of contact for OWA and other Exchange related traffic you implement a FE server, that proxy's the requests coming from the Internet to the BE servers...

SatyaPathak: I think I'll be more clear. I have never used OWA on this server yet and I have no server setup or a cname yet.

What I am thinking is happening is that since moss is running on the same server as exchange when I type in http://ips-server/exchange it is thinking it is on the sharepoint site instead of owa. Any other ideas?

I only have one server so I can't do FE/BE, I just mentioned that link because of the related question I asked from.

Aw you know what, after I wrote that I checked IIS and remembered I installed Dynamics CRM and the default website port for that was the same as SharePoint so that site was stopped due to that reason. I changed the port and started it and it works. Sorry for the confusion
