How to manage Exchange 2007 user emails

Asked by: nimdatx

Hello -

I've just completed my Exchange deployment and I'd like to know how to manage my users email traffic to ensure they are compliant with our email security policy. I'd like to to track emails sent and recieved by users email address. Is there a way to do this with Exchange and are there any other features I should be aware about. I appreciate all your help and support.

Wondering if you have an expansion server set to the old machine. If you go to the properties of the group in ADUC and the "Exchange Advanced" tab...do you have the old server identified as the expansion server there?

Without knowing what you are looking for, it is hard to say if Exchange 2007 can help.
There are transport rules which can do a lot of things for you (it is one of the major new features of Exchange 2007) but you haven't given enough information to know if they will do what you want.

Simon.

I'd like to to track emails sent and recieved by users email address and be able to print this report. I'd like to view the email message as well. Toolbox is ok, however not sure how to print a report and view message. Thanks so much.

by: AkhaterPosted on 2009-10-19 at 14:34:55ID: 25609267

you cannot view the message in exchange, the max you can have access to is the email subject.

The only way to read the messages is to archive (or journal) all emails to a specific mailbox or forward the emails of specific users to another mailbox.

for the print issue when u r ready to query in the toolbox copy the cmdlet you get and paste it in the powershell with > c:\track.txt at the end for example you will have a text file with all the info you can print
