The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Issue with external mail sent to Publci Folder appearing as a post

Asked by TPBPIT in Exchange Email Server

We have Exchange 2003 SP2.  We have created a public folder that is mail enabled.  When we send email to it with a MAPI client the email stays a mail message.  However, when an external email comes to it the message turns into a post.

I have found a technet article, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124684(EXCHG.65).aspx, that has a section called External Email Sent to Public Folders.  In this section it leads you to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=832492.  THis KB article talks about a hotfix and a registry key that must be added.

I have several questions:
1) This hotfix says the message will be delivered to a public folder as a note instead of a post.  Is a note the equivilent of a mail message?  I need to be able to respond to external emails sent to the public folder.

2) The hotfix contains a version of store.exe that is 6.5.6980.42.  My current store version is 6.5.7654.12.  Will my store.exe be overwritten?  If so, do I need to run the service pack again?  What will happen if I run this seemingly of hotfix on my Exchange server that is at SP2?  I need a detailed answer here.

Any help you can give is appreciated because there seems to be lots of unknowns here.
